The Lighthouse Keepers House.

The Lighthouse Keepers House has now been fully restored, and is open for visitors. The Friends of Baring Head secured funding from a philanthropic donor, and together with the Greater Wellington Regional Council we have renovated this house to the same standard as the Assistant Keepers House.

It really is a spectacular place to stay in all weathers and all seasons, and sleeps six (2 double rooms and one twin). The house has been restored in period style, but with a heat pump to make it warm and cosy. It has a well equipped kitchen, and fully accessible bathroom and path to the house. Note that wheelchair access onto the site is still difficult from the carpark, as we are unable to widen the path.

The house can be booked on AirBnB (minimum 2 nights stay at weekends).
